Dr. R P Aloysius (Senior Principal Scientist , CSIR-NPL Delhi)
Dr. R P Aloysius is the Principal Investigator of project titled "Advanced Single Photon Detector & Establishment of Single Photon Detection Based Quantum Standard (Q-65)". He's currently working as Senior Principal Scientist in CSIR-NPL Delhi. He has done Ph.D. on the topic of development of high temperature superconducting tapes for current lead applications from CSIR-NIIST Trivandrum (2002) and continued as Research Associate till 2006. He joined CSIR-NPL as Scientist in the Magnetic Standards division in 2006. In 2012, he then moved on to the area of ultra-low temperature physics and quantum transport research, specifically working at the milli Kelvin temperature range. Currently he is working on electrical quantum standards such as the realisation of the unit of ampere through the phenomenon of quantum phase slip (QPS) in superconducting nanowires. Also,he is working on the dissemination of the electrical units to industries and other calibration labs for India as well as abroad. Also, he is assisting various committees of BIS such as electric vehicle (EV), Quantum Information and Standards, basic standards development committee etc. for the formulation of respective Indian standards.
